Xiaomi Civi 3, a possible successor to the Xiaomi Civi 2, which was launched in China in September last year, has reportedly received certification from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Although the launch of the Xiaomi Civi 3 is still not confirmed by Xiaomi, the MIIT listing suggests that it could be announced soon. The listing shows the Xiaomi Civi 3 with model number 23046PNC9C and 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage.
The Xiaomi Civi 3 is rumored to have a 6.55-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to include a dual rear camera unit, led by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX800 primary sensor. Further, it is said to pack two 32-megapixel front-facing cameras with a 100-degree field of view. The online listing confirms 5G connectivity and the Android operating system on the Xiaomi phone.
According to previous leaks, the Xiaomi Civi 3 could feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC under the hood. The new smartphone could pack 512GB of onboard storage and 32-megapixel dual selfie cameras. Xiaomi Civi 2 was launched in China with a starting price of CNY 2,399 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC and has a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main sensor.
The Xiaomi Civi 2 also features a 32-megapixel dual-front camera setup and a 4,500mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. If the Xiaomi Civi 3 does launch soon, it could be another powerful and affordable smartphone from Xiaomi, giving the company an edge in the increasingly competitive smartphone market. The certification from the MIIT is a strong indication that the launch of the Xiaomi Civi 3 is imminent.
