Google has unveiled the Pixel Tablet, the only tablet engineered by the tech giant, at the Google I/O event. The tablet comes with a magnetic charging speaker dock that acts as a charging platform and an additional speaker. The Pixel Tablet is available for pre-order now and will go on sale in selected countries, including the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Japan, and Australia.
Starting at $499, the Pixel Tablet with magnetic charging speaker dock is available in two storage configurations: 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. The tablet comes in three color options – Hazel, Porcelain, and Rose. It has a 10.95-inch WQXGA screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a peak brightness level of 500nits. The screen is also compatible with a USI 2.0 touch pen.
The Pixel Tablet is powered by an in-house octa-core Google Tensor G2 SoC and a Titan M2 security chip. It has 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage. The tablet also comes with quad speakers, Google Assistant support, and both front and rear 8-megapixel cameras.
The Pixel Tablet is backed by a 27Wh battery that offers up to 12 hours of video playback. Using the magnetic dock and a USB Type-C charging cord (sold separately), the Pixel Tablet supports 15W charging. The tablet supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, a fingerprint sensor, a 4-pin accessory connector, and a USB Type-C charging port. It measures 258mm x 169mm x 8.1mm in size and weighs 493 grams.
