WhatsApp Empowers Users with 15-Minute Message Editing Feature in Beta Versions

WhatsApp Testing Message Editing Feature on Android, iOS, and Web Beta Versions

WhatsApp, the popular messaging service, has introduced a highly anticipated feature in its beta versions for Android, iOS, and the Web. The ability to edit messages is currently undergoing testing on mobile apps and the Web interface, with the intention of improving user experience and flexibility within conversations.

Users who have signed up for beta testing on iOS and Android now have the ability to edit their text messages within a specific time frame. While the company has not specified the exact duration, it is expected that WhatsApp will limit the editing window to 15 minutes on all platforms, including iOS, Android, and Web.

To access the editing feature, beta users can find the “Edit message” option through the three-dot menu on Android and the long-press menu on iOS. This functionality allows users to make necessary modifications to their sent messages, offering a chance to correct errors or add additional information after sending.

The editing feature has already been enabled on WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.23.10.13 and WhatsApp Beta for iOS version 23.10.0.70. Beta testers who have installed or updated to these versions via the designated testing channels can now enjoy the convenience of message editing.

Notably, WhatsApp has not specified a precise timeline for when the editing feature will be available to stable-release users. However, the rollout to all WhatsApp users is expected to occur in the coming weeks, alongside other beta features currently being tested.

Among these additional features is the ability to silence unknown callers. This functionality is likely aimed at combating the increasing prevalence of spam and scam calls on the messaging platform. With this feature, users can prevent unwanted and unknown callers from disrupting their WhatsApp experience.

WhatsApp’s commitment to refining and enhancing its services is evident in the introduction of the message editing feature. Users can look forward to the stable release of this feature, along with the other beta features, as the company continues to evolve and adapt to the needs and preferences of its vast user base.
