AMD’s Zen4 Architecture Powers Up 18 New CPU Models and 4 Graphics Options

AMD’s latest Zen4 architecture has brought about a suite of exciting new CPUs for both desktop and mobile devices! Let’s dive into the details.

AMD has released three new 3D V-Cache models for desktop users: the 8-core Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X3D, and the 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X3D. These models come with the same clock frequencies as their non-3D V-Cache counterparts but have bumped up L3 caches – 128MB for both the 7950X3D and 7900X3D and 96MB for the 7800X3D. The 7800X3D also has a lower clock speed than the 7700X, while the 7950X3D and 7900X3D have double the L1 and L2 cache of the 7800X3D.

In addition to the 3D V-Cache models, AMD has also released a range of affordable non-X models for the desktop, including the Ryzen 5 7600, the Ryzen 7 7700, and the Ryzen 9 7900. These models have lower clock speeds and power limits, with the 7900 being the first non-X Ryzen 9 model to be sold directly to regular buyers rather than just OEMs.

On the mobile side of things, AMD has released the Ryzen 7000 series of processors. This includes the top-of-the-line Ryzen 7045 ‘Dragon Range’ series for gaming and creator laptops, as well as the Ryzen 7040 ‘Phoenix’ series for ultrathin laptops. Both of these series are based on the Zen4 architecture and feature a dedicated AI engine – a first for an x86 processor. There are also the Ryzen 7035 ‘Rembrandt-R’ series based on Zen3+ for premium thin and light laptops, the Ryzen 7030 ‘Barcelo-R’ series based on Zen3 for mainstream thin and light laptops, and the Ryzen 7020 ‘Mendocino’ series for entry-level machines, based on the Zen2 architecture.

Finally, AMD has also released the Radeon RX 7000 series of graphics for laptops, featuring the new RDNA 3 architecture. There are four models available: the high-power RX 7600M XT and RX 7600M for gaming laptops, and the low-power RX 7700S and RX 7600S for thin and light laptops. All models have 8GB of GDDR6 memory and 32MB Infinity Cache, with the RX 7600M XT and RX 7700S sporting 32 compute units and the others having 28. The RX 7000S series have lower clock speeds for reduced power consumption.

There’s never been a better time to upgrade your desktop or mobile device with AMD’s latest and greatest CPUs and graphics!
