Google is all set to unveil its latest lineup of smartphones at the upcoming Google I/O event scheduled to be held on May 10. The Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a smartphones are among the most anticipated releases and have generated considerable buzz among tech enthusiasts in the past few months.
The Pixel Fold will be Google’s first-ever foldable smartphone and is expected to be priced around $1,300 to $1,500, which is comparatively cheaper than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 priced at $1,799.99. The phone is rumored to come in black and white color options, as per the design renders shared by tipster Jon Prosser. Pre-orders for the Pixel Fold will begin on May 10 at Google Store, with other partners or carriers starting on May 30, and will be available for purchase in the US starting June 27.
On the other hand, the Pixel 7a is expected to be priced at $499, which is $50 more than its predecessor, the Pixel 6a. The upgrade in the quality of raw materials used has contributed to the price jump. The phone is expected to have a 64-megapixel sensor primary camera, accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens, powered by a Tensor G2 chipset, and equipped with a new 90Hz display and wireless charging support. The Pixel 7a will come in four color options, including Charcoal, Snow, Sea, and Coral, with the last colorway only available at Google Store.
Tipster Jon Prosser has also shared renders of the Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold, which are expected to be launched simultaneously at the Google I/O event. The Pixel 7a will be launched on May 10 and will be immediately available for purchase in the US.
