Honda, the Japanese bike maker, has launched its new entry-level motorcycle in India, the Honda Shine 100. The motorcycle has been priced at INR. 64,900 (ex-showroom Mumbai) and is aimed at the commuter segment. The bike is meant to compete with the popular Hero Splendor in the Indian market.
Bookings for the Shine 100 have already started and production of the motorcycle will begin next month. Deliveries of the bike are expected to commence from May 2023. The Shine 100 has a basic commuter motorcycle design with a modern touch. It features 5-spoke black alloy wheels, a sporty cowl, an aluminum grab rail, and more.
The bike comes in black and 5 different graphic colors including red, blue, green, gold, and grey. The Shine 100 is powered by a 99.7cc, OBD2 compliant, PGM-FI engine producing 7.5 BHP and 8.05 Nm of torque. It has a 677 mm long seat, 786 mm seat height, side stand with engine inhibitor, combi brake system, 168 mm ground clearance, 1245 mm wheelbase, etc.
The Shine 100 comes with a standard warranty of 3 years and also offers 3 years of optional extended warranty. The bike is expected to provide a cost-effective and fuel-efficient riding experience, making it an ideal choice for daily commuters.
Honda has been focusing on expanding its portfolio in the Indian market and the launch of the Shine 100 is a step in that direction. With its competitive pricing and impressive features, the bike is expected to attract a large number of buyers in India. The bike is expected to be launched soon in Nepal as well.
