It’s been quite a time since Apple released the iPhone 14 series globally. The new iPhones haven’t been yet officially launched in Nepal.
We have been hearing rumors about the official launch of the new iPhones but all those rumors are proving to be false since no new news for the launch of iPhones is heard in recent times. The main reason for this is the import ban currently going on in Nepal. Previously it was said that the import ban will be removed after the elections on Mangsir 4 and hopefully the new iPhones could be launched really soon but its already been more than a week after the elections and still we don’t see any news about the removal of import ban or the launch of the new iPhone 14 series.
The new iPhones aren’t officially launched in Nepal but it doesn’t mean that you don’t get to buy them here. You can easily get all the new iPhone models in almost all the smartphone shops and online sites like hamrobazar. This grey import of iPhones has been really beneficial for the shopkeepers as they charge the prices according to their wishes. There is no official pricing for the new iphones and this helps the local sellers to take prices according to their wishes.
You might think about MDMS here as MDMS was introduced to control these grey imports of phones but sadly MDMS hasn’t been implemented perfectly till now so all the phones from anywhere in the world are working perfectly here in Nepal even without official registration. The market for grey phones has been increasing at a very high rate due to the import ban.
We can hope the import ban to be removed soon and MDMS will also be implemented perfectly very soon.
