Xiaomi, the Beijing-based technology company, is all set to launch two of its highly anticipated products on April 18. The first product is the Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone, which boasts several cutting-edge features.
One of the main features of the smartphone is its Leica-branded cameras. The device will be equipped with special Summicron lenses and Sony IMX989 and Sony IMX858 sensors, which will allow users to capture stunning images.
The second product to be launched is the Mi Band 8, which is the successor to the Mi Band 7. Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi Band 8 will come with certain redesigns and functional improvements over its predecessor.
A promotional image of the Mi Band 8 shows a pill-shaped dial with an AMOLED display and a strap that attaches on both sides. The CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, has confirmed that the Mi Band 8 can be worn in multiple ways, including as a necklace.
The Mi Band 8 will offer basic activity-tracking features, including continuous blood oxygen monitoring, low SpO2 alarms, all-day heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, and stress monitoring. Xiaomi may also launch a Pro model of the Mi Band 8 with inbuilt GPS. It is worth noting that the Chinese variant of the Mi Band 8 may vary from its global variants.
The Mi Band 7, which launched in June 2022, offered a 1.62-inch AMOLED Always-On display with 192×490 pixels resolution, 500 nits of peak brightness, and 326ppi of pixel density. The fitness band also offered health tracking, including a SpO2 monitor alongside a heart rate sensor, female health tracking, and sleep monitoring with additional 120 sports modes. The non-NFC variant of the Mi Band 7 costs CNY 249, while the NFC version is available at CNY 299.
Overall, Xiaomi’s new product launches are expected to create a buzz in the market, and it will be interesting to see how consumers respond to these new devices.
