Xiaomi, the Chinese electronics company, has launched its latest fitness wearable, the Mi Band 8. This new device boasts several improvements over its predecessor, including different bands and ways to wear it, such as a pendant or clipped onto shoes.
The Mi Band 8 is available in two variants: one with NFC and another without it. The starting price of the device is CNY 239 (roughly $37 USD), and the NFC version costs CNY 299 (roughly $46 USD). The device can be ordered on Xiaomi’s Chinese website.
The Mi Band 8 has a 1.62-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 192 x 490 pixels and a pixel density of 326 ppi. It supports Android 6.0 or iOS 12.0 and above and has over 150 training modes and health features like SpO2 monitoring, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and menstrual cycle tracking.
The device’s capsule can be worn as a pendant or attached to shoes for running, and it has a professional running mode that tracks 13 specialist information and provides expert analysis. The Mi Band 8 has a 190mAh battery that lasts up to 16 days, and with Always-on-Display mode turned on, the battery life lasts up to 5 days.
The device has a 5 ATM water resistance rating and weighs 27 grams. It is available in Light Gold and Bright Black color options.
