Microsoft Launches Major Update for Windows 11
Microsoft has launched a major update for its popular operating system, Windows 11. The update includes several new features that are designed to improve the user experience and provide faster and more efficient computing.
One of the major changes in this update is the integration of an AI-powered Bing search engine into the taskbar. With over half a billion users each month, the search box is one of the most extensively used components on Windows, and with the AI-powered Bing front and center to this experience, the company claims that users will find the answers they are looking for faster than ever before.
In addition, Phone Link for iOS devices is now available for iPhone users, allowing them to connect their phones to their Windows 11 PCs. This gives easier access to iPhone’s photos with iCloud integration in the Photos application.
The update also adds tabs to the Notepad application, making it easier for users to efficiently organize data and notes. The Snipping Tool application can now be used for screen recording, providing a simple and effective way to capture and share on-screen activities.
For users with visual impairments, the improved Narrator now supports more braille displays, including three new Designed for Surface displays from HumanWare. It is now possible to switch between Narrator and other screen readers while using your braille display.
Voice access with Microsoft applications is also now possible in Windows 11 update, with or without a keyboard and mouse. This critical functionality ensures that Narrator can easily interact with accessible gadgets.
The update will be available today through Windows Update, and new apps will be made available through Microsoft Store updates. Eligible devices running Windows 11, version 22H2 can try out the new features right away. The company expects that the new features delivered via Windows Update will be fully available in the March 2023 monthly security update release.
