Redmi, the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has launched its latest smartphone, the Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G, in China. The phone is the latest addition to the expansive Redmi Note 12 lineup and offers mid-range specifications.
The Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G is expected to go on sale in China soon, though the launch and sale dates have not yet been confirmed by Redmi. The phone is priced at CNY 1,999 for the sole 12GB + 256GB variant and is available in Black, Gold, and White color options.
The smartphone features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC and comes with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 inbuilt storage. The Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G runs Android 13-based MIUI 14.
The phone has a dual rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Additionally, it has a 16-megapixel front camera housed in a center-aligned punch-hole slot at the top of the display. The Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery unit with 33W fast charging support.
In terms of security, the phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated with the power button on the right edge. The connectivity options of the Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, dual SIM card support, Bluetooth v5.1, and GPS. The handset comes with a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB Type-C port, and an IP53 rating.
Redmi continues to release innovative and affordable smartphones, and the Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G is a great addition to the lineup. With its impressive specifications and features, the phone is expected to attract many consumers in the mid-range smartphone market.
